We like our design and architecture books here at Retrohome and this is a 1970s classic.
A personal view on the buildings of England from Poet Laureate Sir John Betjeman.
Betjeman was passionate on the subject and is credited with being instrumental in saving St Pancras station from the wrecking ball.
Covering pre history and Saxon through Elizabethan and on to Edwardian and beyond with lots of colour photographs and a wealth of insight.
The 112 pages are all in very good condition, the softback cover isn't so good - a little tired but undamaged. The spine is unbroken.
Printed by Penguin in 1977 from the original 1972 publication.
A really nice book and an excellent read.
